Biomarker, CDx & Precision Medicine Conferences 2027

Last updated: October 2026. We check this list regularly and add dates as organisers confirm them.

Biomarker and diagnostics teams have a different conference problem from drug developers. The large oncology congresses carry the trial data, but decisions about platforms, lab partners, regulatory routes and reimbursement get made at smaller, more technical meetings that rarely appear on a general oncology calendar.

This guide covers those meetings: the 2027 precision medicine conferences, biomarker conferences, companion diagnostics conferences, molecular pathology meetings, and the genomics, liquid biopsy and spatial biology events that biomarker teams in the US and Europe actually use. For each we give the dates, city, focus, who should go and what a sponsor or exhibitor can realistically get out of it. Every date below was checked against the organiser’s own website in October 2026. Where a 2027 edition has not been announced, we say “dates TBC” and give the pattern from recent years.

Key takeaways

  • Precision Med Tri-Con and the Next Generation Dx Summit have merged into the Dx World Summit, which runs 23โ€“25 August 2027 in Washington, DC. Teams that budgeted for Tri-Con in spring need to move that line to late summer.
  • Molecular pathology has two clear anchors: AMP Europe (21โ€“23 June 2027, Amsterdam) and the AMP Annual Meeting (9โ€“13 November 2027, Baltimore). ADLM (25โ€“29 July 2027, Chicago) covers the wider clinical lab market.
  • Genomics and NGS meetings cluster in four windows: late January (Festival of Genomics London, PMWC), early March (AGBT), June (ESHG) and September to October (AGBT Precision Health, ASHG).
  • The dedicated liquid biopsy, spatial biology and CDx industry summits have mostly not published 2027 dates yet. Expect them in the autumn of 2027, based on recent editions.
  • ImmunoMark Summit runs a dedicated Biomarkers & Companion Diagnostics stream (Stream 2) at all three 2027 editions: San Diego (10โ€“11 February), London (3โ€“4 March) and Boston (June).

How this list is organised

The meetings are grouped by theme, because biomarker teams usually plan by function. A month-by-month view follows the theme tables.

We have deliberately left out the big general oncology congresses (AACR, ASCO, ESMO, SITC) and the disease-specific symposia. They matter to biomarker teams, but they are covered in our oncology conferences 2027 calendar. This list is the diagnostic and biomarker layer underneath that calendar.

Each table includes a “sponsor angle” column. It is our view of what a diagnostics, tools, CRO or platform company can realistically achieve there.

Precision medicine and CDx industry meetings

These meetings bring pharma, diagnostics companies and labs together on the commercial and regulatory side of precision medicine: co-development, CDx regulation, market access and partnering.

The biggest change for 2027 is the Dx World Summit. Its organisers say it brings the Next Generation Dx Summit and the Precision Med Tri-Con together into one event, held 23โ€“25 August 2027 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC. Tri-Con was held as a standalone meeting in San Francisco on 4โ€“5 May 2026, so anyone who used it as a spring anchor will need a different plan for the first half of 2027.

For companies whose buyers are pharma CDx and biomarker leads, the first half of 2027 now relies on the focused meetings: ImmunoMark in San Diego and London, the European CDx summit and ImmunoMark Boston. Our precision medicine conference sponsorship page explains who attends ImmunoMark and how the 1:1 meetings work.

Molecular pathology, laboratory medicine and IVD

These are the meetings where companion diagnostics are run, validated and bought. If your customers are molecular pathologists, lab directors or IVD manufacturers, this is your core calendar.

USCAP is in Canada in 2027 but remains the main North American pathology meeting. AMP’s two meetings matter most for companies selling NGS panels, liquid biopsy assays or lab informatics. AMP Europe in June sits in the middle of the IVDR transition for many oncology assays, which makes regulatory content especially useful; our IVDR guide for companion diagnostics covers the background.

For oncology biomarker teams, AGBT General Meeting and AGBT Precision Health are the two to prioritise: the first for where sequencing, single-cell and spatial technology is going, the second for how it reaches the clinic. Our guide to AGBT and AACR IO covers the early-March cluster in more detail. ESHG and ASHG are essential for germline and population genomics, but they carry less tumour biomarker content.

Liquid biopsy and MRD

Liquid biopsy has its own societies, but their 2027 meetings had not been dated when we checked, so much of the year’s content will appear inside broader meetings.

The International Symposium on Minimal Residual Cancer, co-hosted with the European Liquid Biopsy Society, last met in Nice in May 2025, and no next edition had been announced when we checked. Liquid biopsy validation will also feature at AMP, AGBT Precision Health, ADLM and the large oncology congresses. For how ctDNA and MRD are being used in immunotherapy trials, see our piece on ctDNA and MRD in immunotherapy trials. Companies selling liquid biopsy technology can find more on reaching pharma buyers on our liquid biopsy and biomarker technology conference page.

Spatial biology, single-cell and digital pathology

Spatial biology is the youngest of these communities and its meeting calendar is still settling. The European Society for Spatial Biology held its first conference in Berlin in December 2024 and its third in Barcelona from 28 September to 1 October 2026; it had not announced a 2027 meeting when we checked. Keystone’s Single Cell Biology meeting runs 15โ€“18 February 2027, but in Banff, Canada.

Spatial and single-cell methods also feature heavily at AGBT (1โ€“4 March), and digital pathology at USCAP and ECP. Spatial vendors will split 2027 between these technology meetings and the meetings where pharma decides how spatial data is used in trials. For the scientific background, see our comparison of spatial proteomics and spatial transcriptomics for IO biomarker discovery.

ImmunoMark Summit 2027: the Biomarkers & CDx stream

Every 2027 ImmunoMark edition runs two parallel streams: Next-Gen Immuno-Oncology (Stream 1) and Biomarkers & Companion Diagnostics (Stream 2). Stream 2 is built for the people on the pharma side who choose assays, structure CDx partnerships and plan regulatory routes, which is the audience most of the meetings above reach only indirectly.

San Diego, 10โ€“11 February 2027

At the biomarker and immuno-oncology conference in San Diego, Stream 2 is titled Biomarkers, Companion Diagnostics & Precision Medicine. Sessions on the published agenda include:

  • “Decoding Response and Resistance to Immunotherapy in NSCLC Through Integrative Multi-Omic and AI Approaches”, Ariel (Yung-Chia) Chen, Director, Biomarker and Translational Sciences, Interventional Oncology, Johnson & Johnson
  • “The Growing Role of Liquid Biopsy and Minimal Residual Disease Monitoring in Personalized Cancer Care”, Hadly Clark, Director, FasterCures, Milken Institute
  • “Beyond Spatial Omics: Multimodal Measurement as Infrastructure for Precision Medicine”, Ivan Lebedev, Founding Steward, Verdant Center for Spatial Biology
  • Panel: “How AI-Driven Digital Pathology is Transforming Biomarker Discovery and Precision Medicine”, with Sripad Ram, Director, Digital Pathology and Image Analysis Group, Pfizer
  • “Market Access and Reimbursement Strategies for Companion Diagnostics in Precision Oncology” and “Global Regulatory Strategies for Companion Diagnostics and Precision Medicine”

London, 3โ€“4 March 2027

At the companion diagnostics and immuno-oncology conference in London, Stream 2 (Biomarker & Companion Diagnostics) opens with a keynote on “Clinical Utility of Biomarkers” from Espen Walker, Head of Global Medical Diagnostics, AstraZeneca. The programme also includes:

  • “Companion Diagnostics and the Role of Diagnostics in Precision Medicine”, Rafael Carriรณn Izquierdo, Marketing Molecular & Sequencing & Pathology, Roche
  • “Functional T cell Biomarkers for Precision Immuno-Oncology”, Marc Vendrell, Chair of Translational Chemistry and Biomedical Imaging, The University of Edinburgh
  • “Panel: Global CDx Approval Pathways โ€“ EMA, FDA & MHRA Perspectives” and “Panel: Regulatory Harmonisation for Biomarker Qualification”
  • “Digital Pathology & Spatial Transcriptomics in Oncology”, “Multiplex & Programmable Biomarker Platforms” and “Companion Diagnostics Co-development Strategies”

The London speaker panel for the stream also lists Nitya Nair, Group Head, Translational Biomarker Strategy, Pharma Research & Early Development Oncology, Roche, and Matteo Cesaroni, Head of Biomarker Data Analytics, Sanofi.

Boston, June 2027

The East Coast immuno-oncology and biomarker summit in Boston runs the same two-stream format in June 2027, with 300+ attendees expected. The agenda will be published closer to the event.

For context, the London 2026 edition drew 300+ attendees from 100+ companies, 70% of them senior decision-makers, with 200+ meetings and 15โ€“25 meetings per sponsor. Companies taking part included GSK, Roche, Merck, AstraZeneca, J&J, BMS, Incyte and Pierre Fabre. More on the stream’s audience is on our biomarker conference sponsorship page.

How to choose between them

No company can cover all of these meetings. Start with one question: who signs the purchase order for what you sell?

  • If it is a lab director or molecular pathologist, AMP (US and Europe), ADLM and ECP are your core meetings.
  • If it is a core lab or genomics scientist, AGBT and the human genetics meetings come first.
  • If it is a pharma translational, biomarker or CDx lead, the focused precision medicine and CDx meetings are where you can actually get time with them, ideally with meetings booked in advance.

Then judge each event on cost per qualified meeting, not headline attendance. Our 10-point scorecard for choosing biotech conferences to sponsor sets out the questions to ask each organiser, and the background on how CDx decisions are made is in our companion diagnostics guide. The FDA’s list of cleared or approved companion diagnostics is a useful way to see which pharma and diagnostics companies are already partnering in your area.
