Oncology Conferences 2027: The Complete Calendar

Last updated: October 2026. We review this calendar every month and add new dates as organisers announce them.

The oncology meeting calendar no longer has a quiet season. Between November 2026 and December 2027 there is a major cancer congress, a disease-specific symposium or a partnering week almost every fortnight, across the US, Europe and Asia.

This calendar lists the main oncology, immuno-oncology, precision oncology and biomarker conferences from November 2026 to December 2027, month by month. For each event we give the dates, city, focus and who it suits best. Every date was checked on the organiser’s official website in October 2026. Where a 2027 edition has not been announced yet, we say so and give the month it usually takes place.

Key takeaways

  • The four anchors of the oncology year are AACR Annual (2โ€“7 April 2027, Orlando), ASCO (4โ€“8 June 2027, Chicago), ESMO (17โ€“21 September 2027, Barcelona) and SITC (3โ€“7 November 2027, National Harbor).
  • Q1 2027 is the busiest quarter for focused meetings: ASCO GI and GU, AACR IO, ESMO Targeted Anticancer Therapies, SITC Spring Scientific, AGBT and ELCC all fall between January and March.
  • JPM week (11โ€“14 January 2027, San Francisco) is not a scientific meeting, but it sets the partnering agenda for the year.
  • Large congresses are where data is first shown. Focused meetings are where biomarker strategy, CDx partnerships and deals get worked out.
  • ImmunoMark Summit runs three 2027 editions focused on immuno-oncology and biomarkers: San Diego (10โ€“11 February), London (3โ€“4 March) and Boston (June).

How to use this calendar

The calendar is split by quarter. Each table lists the event, its dates and city, its scientific focus and the people who get the most from it. Event names link to the organiser’s official page.

We have included the major general oncology congresses, the leading disease-specific meetings (breast, GI, GU, lung, haematology, gynaecological cancers), the main immuno-oncology meetings, and a small number of genomics, theranostics and biologics meetings that matter to biomarker and diagnostics teams. Partnering events such as JPM week and the BIO International Convention are listed for context because they shape when deals and budgets are set.

Dates change occasionally, and venues are sometimes confirmed late. Always check the official site before booking travel.

Novemberโ€“December 2026: closing out the year

December is crowded. SABCS, ASH and ESMO IO fall within nine days of each other, so teams covering breast cancer, haematology and IO usually need to split up. SITC in early November is the last big IO data moment before the new year, and much of what is presented there feeds directly into the following year’s biomarker conversations. The first quarter rewards careful routing. San Diego hosts ImmunoMark’s West Coast immuno-oncology and biomarker summit on 10โ€“11 February and SITC Spring Scientific two weeks later, with AACR IO in Los Angeles straight after. Europe then picks up: ESMO TAT in Paris, the immuno-oncology conference in London on 3โ€“4 March and ELCC in Munich two weeks later. AACR Annual and ASCO are the two meetings almost every oncology company sends someone to. AACR is where early and translational data appears; ASCO is where practice-changing phase III results are usually presented. June then fills up quickly, with SNMMI, BIO, EHA, EACR and ESMO Gynaecological Cancers in the two weeks after ASCO. July and August are quieter, which makes them the natural window for planning the following year’s sponsorships. ESMO 2027 moves back to September after an October meeting in 2026, so European data releases and medical affairs plans should allow for the earlier date. WCLC has been held in September in recent years (12โ€“15 September 2026 in Seoul); the 2027 dates had not been published on the IASLC website when we last checked.

How to choose which conferences to attend and which to sponsor

Attending and sponsoring are different decisions. Attending is about learning and keeping up with the field. Sponsoring is about being in front of specific buyers, and it only pays back if those buyers are in the room and you can actually talk to them.

Attend when the goal is data and intelligence

  • Large congresses (AACR, ASCO, ESMO, ASH, SITC) are where new trial data and translational findings appear first. Send scientists, medical affairs and competitive intelligence people to listen, and BD people to hold meetings in the margins.
  • Disease-specific symposia (ASCO GI and GU, SABCS, ELCC, WCLC, ESMO Breast and GI) are best when your pipeline or assay is concentrated in one tumour type.
  • Scientific meetings (Keystone, AACR IO, SITC Spring Scientific, EACR) are where your scientists build relationships with academic key opinion leaders.

Sponsor when the buyers are concentrated

Before committing budget to any sponsorship, ask the organiser for answers to four questions:

  • What share of attendees are senior decision-makers, and in which functions (translational, clinical, biomarker, procurement, BD)?
  • Are 1:1 meetings arranged before the event, and how many does the package include?
  • Can you speak or take part in a session your target audience will actually attend?
  • What attendee information will you have for follow-up, and when?

At a very large congress, a booth competes with hundreds of others for attention. At a focused meeting, a sponsor can realistically meet most of the people who matter. Many diagnostics, tools and CRO companies attend the big congresses and sponsor two or three focused meetings where their buyers gather. Our guide to sponsorship ROI for diagnostics and platform companies sets out how to measure the return.

How to plan an oncology conference year: budget and team

Build the year in three tiers

  • Tier 1, anchor congresses (two to four a year): attend with a team; sponsor only if your buyers are clinicians or a broad pharma audience.
  • Tier 2, focused meetings (two to four a year): sponsor where your target accounts are concentrated and 1:1 meetings are built into the package.
  • Tier 3, watch list: meetings one person attends, or that you follow through abstracts and published highlights.

Set the budget early

Most organisers sell their best sponsorship and speaking slots months ahead, so Q1 and Q2 meetings are usually being contracted in the autumn before. Decide your tier 1 and tier 2 events by the end of Q3, then hold back part of the budget for meetings announced later in the year. Count travel, staff time, meeting rooms and follow-up alongside the sponsorship itself, and judge every event on cost per qualified meeting rather than headline attendance.

Match the team to the event

  • Scientists and medical affairs for the data: AACR, ASCO, ESMO, SITC and the disease-specific meetings.
  • BD and account leads for meetings with structured partnering or 1:1s, with meetings booked before travel.
  • A senior scientific voice wherever you have a speaking slot. Expert audiences respond to data, not sales decks.
  • One owner for follow-up, so every conversation has a next step within a week of the event.

Clustering helps. February in San Diego, early March in London and Paris, and June in Boston each let one team cover several meetings in one trip.

If you sell into IO and biomarker teams

If your customers are translational scientists, biomarker leads and companion diagnostic teams in pharma and biotech, the big congresses show you where the science is going, but they rarely give you enough time with those buyers. Biomarker decisions are made by a relatively small group of people: the translational medicine lead who chooses the assay, the CDx lead working out a co-development model with a diagnostics partner, and the clinical team planning the FDA companion diagnostic pathway.

ImmunoMark Summit is built for that audience. Each edition runs two parallel streams, Next-Gen Immuno-Oncology and Biomarkers & Companion Diagnostics, with keynotes, panels, case studies, pre-arranged 1:1 meetings and a Day 1 drinks reception. The 2027 editions sit in three of the calendar’s busiest windows:

  • San Diego, 10โ€“11 February 2027 (West Coast Edition): 300+ senior attendees, two weeks before SITC Spring Scientific in the same city.
  • London, 3โ€“4 March 2027 (2nd annual): 400+ target attendees, between ESMO TAT and ELCC.
  • Boston, June 2027 (East Coast Edition): 300+ attendees, in the same month as ASCO.

At London 2026, 300+ attendees from 100+ companies took part, 70% of them senior decision-makers. Companies included GSK, Roche, Merck, AstraZeneca, J&J, BMS, Incyte and Pierre Fabre. More than 200 meetings took place, with 15โ€“25 meetings per sponsor and 55+ pre-scheduled 1:1s for title sponsors.
